Green Day sought to heal and unify through rock 'n' roll in Dallas on Saturday night

Over the span of its 30-year career, Green Day has gone from a snotty punk trio to a full-fledged arena rock act with a shelf full of Grammys, Tony awards and its own plaque in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. On Saturday night at a crowded American Airlines Center, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool showcased gems from each of the phases in their storied career during the course of a dramatic, breakneck two- hour plus performance.

Billie Joe Armstrong did not chant "No Trump! No KKK! No fascist USA!" when Green Day launched their U.S. tour in support of last year's aptly titled "Revolution Radio" at Talking Stick Resort Arena last night the way he did when they played the American Music Awards in November.

The Living End’s Chris Cheney Covers A Green Day Classic With Cast Of ‘American Idiot’ Musical

The Living End’s Chris Cheney, who is one of the lead cast members in the upcoming Australian production of Green Day‘s ‘American Idiot’ musical, has covered one of the band’s most famous songs in the lead-up to the musical’s Aussie debut.


Performing with fellow ‘American Idiot’ cast members Phoebe Panaretos and Ben Bennett on Channel 7’s The Morning Show this morning, Cheney led the trio through an acoustic performance of ‘Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)’.
