EMILY'S ARMY COME TO WASHINGTON

The punk band Emily’s Army will play at 3 p.m. on Father’s Day at the Hall of the Woods, 3712 Sapp Road. The four-piece band from Oakland, Calif., is made up of teens ranging in age from 15 to 17. Their debut album was released by Adeline Records on Tuesday.

PRINCIPAL SENDS JAMESTOWN GRADS OFF WITH GREEN DAY SONG

Dr. Charles Wagner recalled a guitar he received as an 11-year-old to illustrate a message of giving to others, then gave his graduates a surprise gift: strumming that same guitar while singing Green Day's "Good Riddance" (aka "The Time of Your Life").

With that Wagner bid goodbye to WJCC Schools (he'll be an assistant superintendent in Gloucester) and to one of the most academically competitive classes in school history.
