GREEN DAY CANCEL REMAINING 2012 APPEARANCES

DATES SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY AND FEBRUARY 2013 TO BE POSTPONED

GREEN DAY ¡TRÉ! RELEASE DATE MOVED UP TO DECEMBER 11, 2012

Los Angeles, CA – October 29, 2012 – Green Day announced today they will cancel their club tour that was due to launch in Seattle at the Paramount Theatre on September 26th and wind down in Tempe, AZ at the Marquee Theatre on December 10th.  Tickets for these clubs shows will be refunded at point of purchase.   Additionally, Green Day will postpone all scheduled appearances for the months of January and February 2013.  New dates for these rescheduled shows will be announced shortly and previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new dates.

“Obviously the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern,” said Mike Dirnt.  “We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Green Day also announced they would move up the release date of Green Day ¡Tré! to December 11, 2012 from its original date of January 15, 2013.

“We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned,” said Tré Cool.  “If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.”

I'm really upset... I've been waiting for years and Green Day don't come to Mexico !!! Now... I bought a fuckin' flight from Mexico to Illinois.. and now what ? I'm gonna loose my money because Billie can't live without drugs ! That's bullshit !!! Mexico is a saved place for musicians. Don't be fuckin' racist !!!

girlsguitars's picture

I call bullsh1t on this whole "rehab" stunt. BJ's behavior at the corporate event was not atypical. He just has to lay low to satisfy the money source and call it rehab. These guys have the best job in the world and I know that they have already conquered the only occupational hazard that they have. You guys suck for cancelling these shows. Glad you had a good run, though.

Hope everything goes well. THANKS FOR TRÉ ON DECEMBER !
Hope to see you in ARGENTINA AGAIN. LOVE YOU

CarooKerplunk's picture

My best wishes are with you guys :) and get well soon Billie Joe ♥ Your idiots will always support you !! and I'll wait as long as is necessary for you to come to Chile when you can :)♥

Billie Joe I hope You are taking the time you need to get your health back. Such a shock after you said you had fun recording these albums and the different types of venues you would play. How are Adriane and the boys handling it? as well as the rest of your family? I will be praying for a suscessfull recovey. I miss chasing you guys around doing interviews and playing gigs. God bLESS, Diane

I am so sad to hear this, because it means Billie Joe's condition is worse than it seemed at first. All I hope now is that he gets back on his feet at all - that is my main concern! I am struggling with some health issues myself, and my date for start working again gets pushed all the time, so I really knows how it feels to have to cancel and postpone more and more.

I also understand the disappointment for all of you who had tickets for nov - feb, but I really think the guys wouldn't do this if it wasn't really necessary. Yelling at Billie like some here does isn't gonna help making him better.

This sucks :( I wish billie the best and I understand the need to reschedule some but the Sacramento concert that I had tickets to is now canceled :/my whole family had tickets and were so excited :( my parents had actually bought each other tickets to this concert as their anniversary gifts.. I really do hope that billie gets well soon because his health is most important I just wish that all of the concerts were postponed and not only the 2013 ones.. because now some of us can't see them at all.

lasistin's picture

Selfishly I want to cry. Of course BJA's health is #1. But I have been on such a high since winning my tickets (sold out by the time i tried to buy) and with todays news its no good for me. My tix were for Dec. so I dont get to see them at all. No postponement just flat out cancelled. I am totally deflated. I would have taken postponement a year from now over cancellation. Whats left to say except get well soon Billie Joe!

Maira_holiday's picture

No matter may cancel all who want to show health while Billie Joe is well or any of you
True fans understand

Sonia07's picture

Get well soon Billie Joe, nothing else matters !! True fans will understand !! Take care, we need you ;-) All my love and respect xx

Noah Matthews's picture

I had to buy tickets for wi cause they dont have michigan tour dates.scedule time off work.collect all my freinds money book a hotel room.now they are going to postpone the show! When are they going to give the new dates so i can re plan The trip?

karlachu's picture

blah i have the worst luck. first i get lucky and get tickets to the filmore and it's cancelled. then i have tickets to one of the unlucky people who bought tickets to show thats cancelled here. i love you Green Day and Billie, and i totally understand. This just really sucks.

amber1011's picture

Damn... I'm pregnant and was already going to be halfway into my pregnancy at the Jan 2013 concert... Now I'm worried I'll be way too knocked up or have a newborn when this is all rescheduled. I love you, Billie... but it's crushing me that I might not be able to see you guys on tour, or have to trade my pit tickets for whatever shitty seats are left.

towngirl's picture

Billie get well soon! We don't mind you cancelled the dates, guys. We know it was exhausting for you.have a rest! After that you will play with renewed vigor I'm sure.Take care of yourselves!

Green_Hysteria's picture

send-my-love-a-letterbomb's picture

Postponed on the date I finally get to see you guys. Posh. Well, all I really care about is Billie's health. I'm glad he's getting better. All my love and respect. And can't wait until the concert, whenever that may be <3

Was hoping to kick off the end of January with Green Day at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, but Billie Joe's health is definitely priority right now. Anxious to see when the show is moved to, but can't wait to hear Tre' earlier. Get well, Billie!!! Wishing you, Mike Dirnt and Tre' Cool Peace, Love, and Rock n Roll! :-)
