Billie Joe, you are my fucking hero! I could not agree more. Honestly, it's really sad because I grew up with MTV, and I remember when it still had a lot to do with music. It's degredation has been hard to stomach, but what's even harder is trying to watch the channel itself. We're just lucky that bands like Green Day are still around!

I remember when MTV first started in 1982. It was great. People started running their TV's through their stereos and turned on MTV for parties. It was awesome. You could see the band and listen if you wanted to. Now, it's just mindless shit. You're right. They need to change the name or bring the music back.

Exactly!!! I had to listen to the Relief concert on the radio last night, I was caught in trafic and could'nt make it back to watch it. MTV today is nothing how it use to be.If anyone wants to be on MTV all they have to do is be ignorant, drunk, and willing to make an ass of themselfs for instant overnight fame. You have deffinately hit the nail on the head there. And if I hear one more thing about the fucking Jersey Shore Finale I am going to lose it.

never knew wat mtv was like but i am sure that it was pretty cool. there is a new music channel for things like these that play green day almost every single day, its called cool t.v. i not sure which chanel it is on for people with cable i dont own cable, so i watch it on channel seven on my tv.

Take me back to the 90s when MTV was a music channel. Remember in 1991 and I was 7 yrs old when I got MTV in my home. Oh man many hours spent watching that channel back then. I got pretty tired to see Smells like teen spirit all the time though :) Even though it was a great song and still is. 1994 was a great MTV-year aswell ;)
