It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Kaelem Hainsworth, a Green Day fan in Dublin passed away suddenly at the young age of 17, and we want to send our deepest condolences to Kaelem's family and friends.  His funeral is this Thursday, which falls on Thanksgiving in the United States, and hearing sad news around the holidays always makes it more upsetting.  Kaelem you will forever be missed.

As is usual with trilogies, the second installment of Green Day's much-anticipated album trilogy titled iDOS!, set to release at midnight on Tuesday, November 13th, is a more intense, pure garage rock blast of what Billie Joe Armstrong, frontman for Green Day, describes as being at the party, escalating the calmer, more somber music from the first installment iUNO! into the free-fall of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll promised with the second.

The second installment in Green Day's ambitious trilogy of albums opens with "See You Tonight," a bare, ragged benediction where Everly Brothers harmonies mask stalker-y undercurrents, and puppy love might turn nasty if you don't text back soon. Like ¡Uno!¡Dos! is full of these moments, where the band follows lineal threads fromDookie-era punk into all manner of overheated angst – nervy-Jam mod soul on "Stray Heart," Who-mad maximum R&B on "Wow! That's Loud," even mascara-streaked soul balladry on the album-closing "Amy," where Billie Joe Armstrong makes like the skate-park Sam Cooke.

Considering frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's recent rehab stint, the hedonistic vibe on ¡Dos!, the second in a trilogy, may feel ill-timed. But scratch the party-till-you-puke surface and there's plenty of minor-key darkness lurking below, as in the bleary-eyed ''Lazy Bones'' and the lounge- lizard groove propping up ''Nightlife.'' This debauched evening draws to a close with Armstrong's teary Amy Winehouse tribute ''Amy'' — now a meta-commentary on the sad consequences of a breakneck lifestyle. B+
