My Comments
I agree that the right to bear arms is indeed an antiquated law. The fact of the matter is simply this, people get sick. They mentally lose control of themselves and their lives. Whether it's due to nature and a chemical imbalance or due to growing up in the wrong circumstances(most likely a combination of both), people will keep losing control. There's no way to predict who these people are going to be, and this will continue to keep happening until the means of mass killing is removed from the equation. People will still find ways to kill, but I think we could decrease catastrophic results like what has occurred in the recent shooting. In any case, there has to be some kind of change. This just cannot keep happening. It makes my heart and mind so unbelievably sick. My love and hope for some sort of resolution and peace go out to all affected by this tragedy.
Billie Joe, you are my fucking hero! I could not agree more. Honestly, it's really sad because I grew up with MTV, and I remember when it still had a lot to do with music. It's degredation has been hard to stomach, but what's even harder is trying to watch the channel itself. We're just lucky that bands like Green Day are still around!
I have to say, Uno and Dos were very good albums, but you guys really hit it out of the park with Tre!!!! You definitely deserve your own holiday, and I will make sure that today is the greenest of days with the constant blaring of Tre! Long Live Green Day!!!!!!
I have to say, I like the idea of having an acoustic arrangement of Basketcase using an upright Bass. However, I did not like her voice or her style of singing. And in my opinion, I think that when you do a cover you can make it your own in a manner of speaking, but you have to stay true to the original artist up to a point. She changed quite a few of the chords, and it didn't work that well. Overall I have to say I'm not impressed.
I will agree that Dos! is an album that definitely is more adventurous than Green Day albums past, and as it stands, it is an excellent album. However, it in no way overshadows Uno! by any means. Uno! was an excellent album. It was simply more of the type of Green Day that you are used to hearing. I love both albums, and Green Day is by far the best band out now that is continually producing new and original music.
