  • They're restless, angsty and young – very young, actually – and on June 11th, Emily's Army will release their second album, the aptly titled Lost at 17, on Rise Records. Now you can take an exclusive first listen to the Oakland band's effort.

Emily's Army is comprised of brothers Cole and Max Becker (who split vocal duties and play guitar and bass, respectively), guitarist Travis Neumann and drummer Joey Armstrong (son of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, who also produced the LP). They showcase their knack for ragged So Cal pop-punk with a bleeding heart and a healthy sense of humor. Tracks like "Part Time Bum" and "Gubermensch" are rollicking, infectious kiss-offs, while "On the Roof," "If Our Music Plays Again" and the blistering closer "Lost at 17" exude just the right amount of earnest preciousness needed for adolescent anthems.

"These guys have shown so much growth since they started. Real teenage, loud, fast rock & roll," Billie Joe Armstrong tells Rolling Stone. "Bands like these guys make it easy to produce and it's the reason why I love rock & roll – except the drummer gives me a hard time!"

  • The massive north London venue sells out all 60,000 tickets for the first time

Green Day have set a new gig attendance record at London's Emirates Stadium.

The band took to the stage at the north London enormodome on Saturday night (June 1) to play a hit-packed set which also featured audience antics, bizarre costumes and Billie Joe Armstrong firing a huge toilet paper gun into the crowd.

Now it's been revealed that the venue sold out all 60,000 tickets for the first time. Other acts including Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen have played sell-out shows at the Emirates Stadium in the past but their attendance figures were lower due to different staging and seating configurations.

Green Day are currently on tour in Europe but will return to the UK in August to headline the Reading and Leeds festivals on August 23 and 24. They last performed at Reading last year (2012) when they delighted fans by playing a secret set on the NME/Radio 1 stage on Saturday morning.

Green Day made their live comeback at South By Southwest in March (2013). They had been previously cancelled a series of live dates scheduled for the end of 2012 and start of 2013 following Armstrong's onstage breakdown in September 2012 and subsequent stint in rehab.
