Tune in tonight, Thursday, April 29 to the Late Show with David Letterman to catch the cast of Broadway's American Idiot along with Gwyneth Paltrow airing at 11:35 pm EDT/PDT!
Green Day is the last of four artists set to appear next month on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" as part of a week of performances dedicated to the reissue of the Rolling Stones' "Exile on Main Street," according to a Twitter post from Questlove of "Fallon" house band the Roots.
Green Day will kick off the special week on May 10. Previously announced participating artists include Keith Urban (May 11), Sheryl Crow (May 12) and Phish (May 13). On May 14, the show will premiere a new documentary about the making of "Exile on Main Street" titled "Stones in Exile."
As previously reported,
Show brought in nearly $800,000 in its opening week.
Green Day can add another notch to their studded belts: the Berkeley, California-bred pop-punk trio are now officially Broadway kings. According to Variety, the group's "American Idiot" musical had a solid debut near the top of the Great White Way money chart last week, with sales dramatically up thanks to mostly positive reviews.
After opening last Tuesday, the musical treatment of the band's landmark 2004 album brought in a hefty $777,860 during the week ending Sunday.

Over the course of the more-than-two-hour performance, the Hot Tubs performed their entire 2008 album, “Stop, Drop and Roll,” including the somewhat well-known “Dark Side of Night.” Not ignoring their alter-egos entirely, they did deliver “covers” of Green Day’s “Blood, Sex and Booze” and “Saint Jimmy.” One of my favorite moments was an unexpected, whimsical rendition of The Penguins’ 1954 doo-wop hit “Earth Angel.” (See video.)
The raucous, beer-drenched concert included its share of theatrics, with repeated waves of crowd surfing by both band members and audience.

Billie Joe Armstrong and Co. pound out garage rock at New York's tiny Bowery Electric
By the time the Foxboro Hot Tubs reached the beer-soaked, shambling conclusion of their chaotic two-plus-hour set in the basement of New York's Bowery Electric last night at nearly 3 a.m., roughly 950 cans of Pabst Blue Ribbon had been consumed and nearly twice that amount had been poured out over bandmembers' heads or sprayed into the audience.
