A playful Green Day stormed their way through a near three hour long show at Wembley Stadium on June 19, and described it as "the biggest show of our f--ing lives" during the set.
Having played Wembley Arena last autumn, the graduation to the stadium, as part of an eighteen date European tour, was a triumphant one; the punk stalwarts romped through a mammoth 34-song set that spanned their entire career, from breakthrough hit 'Basketcase' to more recent material from 2004's critically acclaimed 'American Idiot' and last year's '21st Century Breakdown,' the NME reported.
WIMBLEDON, England — In preparation for Wimbledon, Serena Williams took in a Green Day concert at Wembley Stadium and, with the Queen of England scheduled to visit the tournament Thursday, practiced her curtsy in front of the mirror.
Of Green Day, she gushed: “They were so close.”
Williams was much more animated on other topics. Like Green Day (she pronounced herself a “massive” fan). And The Queen (she does plan to curtsy, if given the opportunity, and she would welcome an introduction).

American pop punk trio also get into the World Cup spirit
The American punk pop trio played a mammoth two hour and 50 minute set from their 20 year backcatalogue featuring tracks and hits from seven of their eight albums as they peppered their set with pyrotechnics and shooting flames.
Arriving onstage to huge cheers, drummer Tre Cool charged down the catwalk before launching his drumsticks onto the main stage as the band kicked off the show with '21st Century Breakdown' opener 'Song Of The Century'.
The Original Broadway Cast Recording of "American Idiot" will be released on vinyl July 13th. Pre-order it: HERE.
What bands influenced you? —Katelynn See, INDEPENDENCE, KY.
A lot of Minneapolis bands like Hüsker Dü and the Replacements. After that, the Ramones, then the local punk-rock scene that we came from in Berkeley, Calif. There was this great compilation called Turn It Around! That was a pretty big record for me.
Why do you never seem to age? —Eldon Mills, CHESTERFIELD, ENGLAND
[Laughs.] I definitely age. It's about trying to mentally keep yourself in a place where you're never resting on your laurels. That's the fountain of youth.
'Green Day: Rock Band' got it right
New 'Green Day' game has no filler songs — are you listening, 'Guitar Hero'?
Green Day: Rock Band is exactly what a band- specific music game should be.
It comes as no surprise that the minds at Harmonix and MTV Games succeeded, given their terrific work on The Beatles: Rock Band.
The Guitar Hero franchise should take note, because Green Day fans got what Van Halen fans wanted with Guitar Hero: Van Halen. And what would that be? Their favorite band.
It sounds simple.
