    American Idiot Gang Will Play Green Day Video "Rock Band" at Theatre District Pub Sept. 23

    Cast members from Broadway's American Idiot will appear in a theatre-district watering hole following the Sept. 23 performance to revel in the Green Day Rock Band video experience.

    The public is invited to join the cast of Green Day's new musical at the new Village Pourhouse (366 W. 46th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues) at 10 PM. A "night of rock 'n' roll and Rock Band" — and booze — is expected.

    Green Day front man Billie Joe Armstrong said the mega-hit "American Idiot" -- which led to the creation of a Broadway musical of the same name -- was inspired by the terror attacks of Sept. 11.

    "I remember seeing those planes smashing into the World Trade Center live. Right there," Armstrong said during his appearance on the Broadway stage Friday night with "American Idiot" director Michael Mayer for a talkback session dubbed "Idiot University."

    "I don't think we ever really, as a society, we had never seen anything that implicit. It was just chaos. I was so confused.

    Vote Green Day at the 2010 MTV EMA for Best World Stage Performance: HERE.

    Punk trio Green Day’s latest album, 21st Century Breakdown, hit number one in 14 different countries, obtaining gold or platinum status in each, and achieved the band’s best chart performance to date. They won the EMA for Best Rock last year.

    Lady Gaga, Paul Weller and Green Day are among the big acts who have been nominated for trophies at the Q Awards next month. 

    The Poker Face hitmaker is up for best female artist, as well as best live act, which will see her battle it out against Kasabian, Muse and Green Day.

    Meanwhile the American Idiot hitmakers are also named in the best act in the world today category, alongside Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire.

    Plan B is up for three awards - best male artist, best album and breakthrough artist - and Weller has been shortlisted for best male and best album for Wake Up the Nation.
