In the new issue of Kerrang! magazine, Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong got fans salivating when he let it slip that the band was already working on songs for the follow-up to 2009's 21st Century Breakdown.

And even for a band that's toured the world, sold millions of albums and seen pretty much everything, the Great White Way was a tad bit intimidating.

Late Monday, reports began circulating that Tom Hanks' production company, Playtone, was in talks with Green Day about bringing their "American Idiot" musical to the big screen. Though nothing was confirmed, it appeared to be a significant step in the almost six-year-old saga of the film version of the band's massive 2004 album.
