It might be one of the most unique covers of a Green Day hit you'll ever hear: young, at-risk girls from an Indian shelter singing Boulevard of Broken Dreams. “Many of these children have been abused or have suffered trauma. Music helps to engage them, it helps them to relax,” Faith Gonsalves, the founder of Music Basti, says. Volunteers from the non-profit help give the girls a musical voice as a means of giving them a confident and creative voice of their own.

Lou Reed, Green Day and the 1970s soul star Bill Withers are among the latest entrants to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
They, along with the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, and Stevie Ray Vaughan and his group Double Trouble, will be honored in Cleveland on April 18 at the hall’s 30th annual induction ceremony, the organization is to announce on Tuesday.
In addition, Ringo Starr will be given the award for musical excellence — formerly called the sideman award — and the “5” Royales, the rhythm-and-blues band known for playing the original versions of hits like

Judy Greer, Fred Armisen and Selma Blair have joined Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong in music drama “Geezer.”
The cast additions come as director Lee Kirk begins lensing in New York City. Producers are Tim Perell of Process Media and Alex A. Ginzburg and Tony Lee of Let It Play. Dallas Roberts, Chris Messina and Brian Baumgartner are also starring.
