"Cautiously optimistic – anxious as well," Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt responds when asked how he's feeling in the wake of the greatest crisis his band has ever known: the public meltdown of singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong during Green Day's set at the iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas last September and Armstrong's subsequent trip into rehab for alcoholism and addiction to prescription medications.
"I'm excited that everything is going to take off again," Dirnt continues, referring to Green Day's return to touring in a few weeks, officially starting in Chicago on March 28th.

LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 26, 2013 - Reprise Records' multi-platinum Grammy®Award-winning Green Day today announced three live club dates to kick off their 2013 tour next month. For these shows, the band will visit smaller intimate venues, including The Fox Theater in Pomona, CA on March 10th, The Marquee in Tempe, AZ on March 11th and Tricky Falls in El Paso, TX on March 13th. Tickets for all three dates will go on-sale this Friday, 3/1 at 10:00 AM local time. See below for a complete list of live dates.
