Interview with 'Still Breathing' director P.R. Brown

    P. R. Brown, director of the beautiful and most recent Green Day music video, ‘Still Breathing’, gave an exclusive interview to Green Day Brasil team, talking about recording process and the effective participation of Billie Joe Armstrong on the production, once the song is about a difficult moment that the frontman has passed.

    Check out the interview below:

Q: How long did it take for the music video to be filmed and produced and when was it filmed?

A: “We shot over 5 days in late october.”

Q: The video seems to have been recorded in many different locations, where they are located?

A: “We spent four days on the road driving from Los Angeles to Portland and back. We shot at Canon beach, an abandoned mill outside Portland, a street corner in Portland, a ranch on the outskirts of Portland and the Lava Fields near Bend Oregon. the band footage was filmed in LA.”

Q: How was the script production? Did the band make any special requests?

A: “The concept came about from a video that a friend had sent me as inspiration. It was a commercial for Volvo that was a stunning look of Sweden. I then wrote the idea as a way of expressing what it means to take that first breath again after experiencing something difficult in your life. I wanted to show a cross selection of people going through their own issues and they overcame them. At the end of the day, life is about taking another step and less about the celebration.
