  • It was a Love reunion with Sir Paul McCartney, Yoko Ono and son Sean Lennon and Olivia Harrison and son Dhani at Cirque du Soleil’s fifth-anniversary celebration of The Beatles Love at the Mirage last night, while Ringo Starr appeared from Europe via video to kick off the gala celebration.

    After the gods and the space adventurer comes the idiot. Besides American Gods, Playtone is also developing American Idiot, a screen version of the Broadway musical adapted from Green Day’s eponymous concept album, for 2013 premiere.

  • Take the Doll Walk of Fame at Rudy's Can't Fail Café, which opened Monday. This will be either the second or third time that I begin this column with Rudy's. It's unavoidable this week because there is a ribbon-cutting ceremony 6:30 p.m. Friday which Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt will attend. He is an investor in Rudy's and a rock star. It made sense to put a rock-star event at the top of the column.
