When Green Day: Rock Band launches June 8, it’ll have Green Day albums American Idiot and Dookie, in their entirety, on the disc.

The news comes from European retailer Play who confirmed tracks from the “classic” Dookie Green Day to newer, more political American Idiot offerings.

What’s more, the listing says Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool all lent their digital likenesses to the game and provided full motion capture to bottle the band’s sometime zany on-stage antics appropriately.

And probably best of all, the game’s songs will be fully exportable to

Push: MTV's week-long salute to Green Day's new musical "American Idiot." Check it out: HERE.

Green Day may have already won Grammys for its album American Idiot, but the band might have to prepare some new acceptance speeches if "American Idiot: The Musical" takes Broadway by storm -- fingers crossed! -- and the Tony awards come calling. We can't think of a better way to commemorate the meeting of peroxide punks and Park Ave. Playbill holders by making Green Day our P.U.S.H. (Play Until Someone Hears) artist of the week.

Sipping soda with the bratty, poppy punkers as they prepare for their Broadway debut. It’s like “Tommy falling down the stairs and running into Hedwig!”

It’s been sixteen years since Green Day emerged from Oakland, California, with catchy top-40 punk songs about girlfriends, masturbation, and stoner slackerdom. But though the three still-boyish men are still dressed in Chucks, leather jackets, and skinny jeans and still sport tinted hair, they have matured a bit, drummer Tre Cool says to me while plopped on a couch at 119 Bar, on East 15th Street.

Rebecca Naomi Jones is clocking many hours on Broadway in her underwear. In “American Idiot,” the new rock musical inspired by the multi-platinum Green Day album of the same name, a skimpy costume is one of Jones’s onstage challenges—reinterpreting songs from the all-male punk-pop band is another.

The 29-year-old native of New York City, last on Broadway with the 2008 musical “Passing Strange,” is back with the intense 90-minute rock opera now in previews at the St. James Theatre.

American Idiot began previews at the St. James Theatre March 24, and it looks like fans of the show (and of the Green Day album that spawned it) are already beginning to show devotion to rival that of other musicals with rock-themed scores aimed at young audiences, from Rent to Spring Awakening and Next to Normal.

Rent fans frequently wrote messages declaring their love of the show on the wall of the Nederlander Theatre. Now, American Idiot audience members can gush, weep and enthuse over the show by writing on the entrance wall to the St. James.
