First impressions?: Taking the Bard's romantic comedy and setting it in London in the '60s and centering on a wildly popular rock band (think Beatles) may sound like an audacious idea and, well, it is. But it somehow, improbably, delightfully works in what is the most playful, exuberant show of the season.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield and Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong will lead the talent lineup at the upcoming pediatric cancer benefit ‘Acoustic 4 a Cure‘ in San Francisco. The event will take place Thursday, May 15 at The Fillmore in San Francisco, with the proceeds from the show going to the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.
Both Bay Area musicians will be joined by a stellar music lineup. Sammy Hagar, Train‘s Pat Monahan, guitar great Joe Satriani, Heart‘s Nancy Wilson and Scott Mathews are also on the bill for the acoustic benefit.

"We're Foxboro Hot Tubs from Austin, Texas!" Billie Joe Armstrong lied to a packed indoor theater at Stubb's BBQ on Saturday. The Hot Tubs — a long-running Green Day side project — rocked with pure abandon, as if Armstrong had become a new man when freed of his trio's brand name. They ripped up a mix of Foxboro originals, covers, and Green Day tunes (though no famous Green Day tunes), in front of a delirious fist-pumping crowd.
